On Google, we are on the first page for all search terms and ranked no lower than third. In fact, the only site ranked higher than us on any search term is Cafepress. That's pretty good.<br /><br />Yahoo is a little different. Even though we improved on some search terms and are on page 1 for all terms, we did have a drop of a few positions on some of the terms. It was an awesome experience, even though it was in the cold and rainy. But I went to plenty of winery's and tasted some awesome wines. I actually enjoyed Sonoma better than Napa. There are wineries in Sonoma that will give you a free tasting, and the staff is friendly and eager to help. You can't get a taste in Napa for less than $10 and up to $30 for a reserve tasting. Wow. I scratched my head. What did I do wrong? It was only after deep, deep digging that I found myself ranked 162 and 181 for the search terms wine t shirt and wine t shirts, respectively.<br /><br />I'm not sure what I did wrong that my rankings dropped over a hundred spots from one day to the next. I'd love to know, so if anyone out there has a clue, please post a response. What I found most fascinating is that the majority, I'd guess 90%, of the sites ranked above me have nothing or little to do with wine t shirts. I don't know about you, but if I was looking for a wine t shirt, I'd hate to have to go through 20 pages before I found the most relevant result and what I was looking for. They say that the current algorithms that Google uses are the most democratic. But in my opinion, something is wrong with there system. This was when I was 10, mind you, and long before I learned that the matches were fixed.<br /><br />So I started thinking, wrestling rankings were fixed - can page rankings be fixed too? To get to the bottom of this mystery, I started tracking page rankings for my targeted keywords on the big three search engines. Today marks the beginning of my investigation.<br /><br />I have to scratch my head. I'm not sure how the same content could be ranked on page 6 in Google but show up as the number 1 (yeah!) entry on MSN. Oh, well. I'll keep trying Mr. Google.
